CPU Not Using Qualifying Offer
I am in the second season of my simulation and have adjusted AI player evaluation to 25/40/25/10.
Multiple free agents are demanding multi year $20M+ contracts, and they do not have draft pick compensation attached to them. Also there are some players that are demanding a 1 year $4-6M deal in free agency and they have a compensation pick attached to them. My guess is the logic used to determine if the AI extends the qualifying offer is not being adjusted when the AI evaluation settings are changed, leading to a difference in the players demand (adjusted by settings) and whether compensation is attached (potentially still using default setting). Just a guess at what is happening of course! I want to thank you all for working on this game. It is a great product and I get a ton of enjoyment out of it! It's hard to get the QO logic perfect, since we need to both figure out if the AI team will offer, and then if the player should accept.
Players without compensation are often players who were traded during the previous season, and are thus not eligible for compensation under the current MLB rules. |

There is a bug, possibly fixed where a pending FA who goes on a rehab assignment is not eligible for a QO. I haven't got to QO territory yet in v17 to confirm it.
