Scouting Accuracy
Curious from the community at large:
What are you using for a Scouting Accuracy? I have seen some say that "LOW" presents a nice challenge, what are people playing with?

i use 100% accurate ... don't know if it's really that or not, but try to get as realistic a report as i can.

Always played with it at standard accuracy, 20-80 scale for present/future tools, no overall ratings. I find it pretty well, I've had guys bust that I was high on, others that I thought were marginal take off and make the top 100 prospect list. I've traded guys that underperformed for me that became all stars elsewhere and vice versa. While I'm no expert at OOTP and I play with a couple house rules I have been pleased with normal accuracy.

normal can be very accurate... i'm leaning toward tring "Low" this year.
since they made changes to the way prospects display potential, that may be enough to make "normal" accuracy cloudy enough for me... i'll work on that decision after new LTMs. taking a break for a while, lol. (*i could be off on what they changed*, it was in notes somewhere or preview of '17 etc, misread if anything, but not a figment) i had them all so close, then decided to try to make them perfect... %#$@ed them all up... good thing i keep good records. i just need some time to alleviate frustrations. |

I have a question that relates to this topic. So any help would be appreciated.
When the setting is set to high or low or whatever you decide for scouting accuracy does that go for your scout or the OSA only? For example I have seen that my scout does not rate most guys as high as what the OSA does. From prospects to veterans to international FAs. I have it set in the normal setting and like the idea of using my scouts report to make decisions in the game because I like it to be as real as possible. But I often check the OSA rating too and where they'll have a guy rated 34/65 potential my account may have it something like 20/35. Is it just the luck of the draw to trust your scout or is there a method? Most if not all players are rated higher by the OSA then how my scout has them. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

This is a pretty good question. I have always assumed the opposite - that changing scouting accuracy was only related to team scouts. If this has been addressed elsewhere maybe some of the forum vets can put us in the right direction - I'm on my phone now and it's a pain for me to use the search function when away from my pc.

I'm moderately sure it affects all scouting, OSA and your head scout.
OSA has always been (on any accuracy below 100%) more optimistic, on average, then any decent Head Scout. Requires a bit of mental adjustment seeing an OSA report. |

I am Brad Pitt in Moneyball, throwing stuff at my old fat scouts. Numbers and new age scouts, make them work it! Low scouting, let the numbers do the talking!

stats only question:
i see you still have settings for scouting... so, do you still get individual ratings like contact, power etc based on scout? then, are stats only affecting over/potential when you say "stats only" setting. |

I believe you still get the written reports from scouts, just no ovr/pot ratings.
