Improved Spring Training

I just fired up my first game (1976, taking over expansion Blue Jays at end of season) and noticed that in Spring Training the starters still play far too much. I see little to no difference between the regular season and Spring Training AI in managing rosters. Why is that? The game has evolved to handle All-Star substitutions and rosters more realistically. Why can it not still understand that teams so not play their starters every day in ST nor do the starters play the full games, specially early in the spring?

What do you guys do to counter this? And isn't the CPU still at a disadvantage since it's starters are more likely to be injured with the extra ABs and IPs?

My ST depth chart has backups starting every 2nd game with another one starting every 3rd game usually.

I also set every RP to MR normal usage with no secondary role. 6 man rotation with strict order

I haven't been experiencing this problem quite as strongly as you have. I definitely notice a difference in Spring Training games.

I find that the AI is pulling starters after about 40 pitches, and many relievers may be put in to face just a single batter. Plenty more pinch hitters and runners as well. In my game yesterday, the Phillies used 26 players.

I have found that in spring training IF you do not put starters in the starting lineups or in rotation then the game would "balance things out. One additional thing change set position too to create more players per position thus making more players play
