historical minor - what happens to players when teams change?

From season to season teams don't have the same minor league teams, just like IRL - so im in the 60s with the colt .45s as I move season to season my minors change, which is cool -

what happens to players when they are on a team that no longer is affiliated with the major league team, do they all shift to your lowest level minor team or do you lose them?

I was also the GM for the Houston Colt 45's. But with this last patch there is a bug with the draft, and with the minors overall. I just held my first draft in December of 1961, and as an example, Rusty Staub was my first pick. I moved him, along with my other 19 draft choices, and simmed one day, and they all disappeared(my draft is 20 rounds). But if you do a search, and find Staub, and then click on him, in his player card, it says he's with the Durham Bulls. I reported this in the bugs forum, and one guy replied and said the last patch messed this up. I may start another game and see by a stroke of luck if this doesn't happen again, but may just play 16 for now. Pretty disappointing really.

Do the players disappear(or change teams) if the roster's are frozen?

They just disappear from the rosters. I had the "roster and transaction" screen open, and simmed one day, and boom, they vanished. So I searched for Staub, clicked on his players card, and there it said he was with the Durham Bulls. And of course, with not being on a roster, as I progressed through April, none of the rookies have stats. And I checked the schedule for the minor league teams, and for those starting in April, there were no stats for these players.

I am starting another game, and let's see what happens. I also created a game where I simmed through the expansion draft without touching anything, and lo and behold, all the minors for the Colt 45's were filled. So let's see what happens when I take over Houston, and work through the draft.

Been here ever since The Original Atlantic City Gambler and Daytona Beach Fatboy Owner.
