Problems with gaining achievements?

Hey guys just wondering if any of you are having issues with gaining some of the achievements?

I don't seem for some reason to gain any of the achievements with the baseball diamond icon. ie certain amount of rbi's or strikeouts etc.

Is there a specific part of the game I must play to gain these? ie actually playing a game instead of simulating it or maybe being just a manager instead of a manager and GM or just GM?

any ideas would we welcome.

Some of the achievements need to be done in game like getting 3 homers or no hitter 5 hits others come other ways that you will see at the end of season awards or after Batting champs are announced or trading for allstar/mvp.
