Best way to update to OOTP17
I'm sure this has been covered before, but I'm looking for the cleanest, easiest way to go from OOTP16 to OOTP17.
I only purchased OOTP16 a few months ago and really only have one game active on it. Should I just continue that league in 16 or play it on 17? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Being able to continue your current game in a new version of OOTP is one of it's, if not it's, best feature IMHO. I have imported my game from v4 all the way to v17 and OOTP hasn't failed me yet. After import make a backup of the "new" v17 game. Then look over the settings in your league to make sure things are as you want them. Sometimes you may find something like "league evolution" or "storylines" are turned on when in your league you had it turned off. Also there may be new features added to the game that are optional and you may want to see what their default setting is and if you want to change it. Finances and league rules have always imported fine for me but it doesn't hurt to glance at them to be sure. One other thing to remember is if something goes wrong you can simply import again from v16 as the import process doesn't change anything in your v16 saved game file. It will stat intact, hell you can even go back and continue to play the game in v16 after importing to v17 if you want to. |
