Importing Questions - OOTP14 to OOTP17

I run a league that is running on OOTP14. I plan to upgrade the league to OOTP17 but it seems that I cannot import an OOTP14 league into OOTP17. I have seen in some of the previous versions forums that you can download demos of the other versions of OOTP and then upgrade one by one and eventually go from OOTP16 to OOTP17.

Will this process still work with OOTP17?

So,I downloaded OOTP15 (demo) and tried to import my OOTP14 file. It fails during import and says their should be a debug trace file. But, no file is created in the debug folder. It then says it will continue importing and nothing happens. Is this a common problem? I'm using a MAC version if that helps at all.

I got this to work by using the demos on a Windows PC. It was not working on my Mac yesterday. My guess is it was in someway related to file permissions as the Mac OS is much more specific about individual file permissions.
