Your database is NOT saved yet

I got the same issue:
"Can't save/load games. Plus this happens when I start new game."

Is that from the Steam version? A person from steam is having that problem also.

I got the game playing on steam but I only selected the MLB, no other leagues. Have you tried that in the mean time see if it works for you?

I have the exact same problem, not the steam version. It always happens at 14% building player lists. I used the 2016 all leagues default to start.

I think the problem happens after a crash, and the auto-save file is made read only

To fix this from happening please let OOTP save the data in a different folder. That can be done with game settings:

- close OOTP and open it again
- on the main screen, click on the small link “Game settings”
- open the “Expert” tab
- In the top row (Custom data path) click on “Select”
- navigate to a folder which has enough free disk space, click on “New Folder” and enter “ootp17”.
- click on Enter to create and open the new folder
- Click on "Select" to close the dialog and restart OOTP – it will automatically install all required data to the new folder.

The next update will contain a fix for this problem.
