Is there any way to get rid of the standings in the upper RH corner?

I know it is only aesthetic, but I really dislike it there.

I tried hitting some of those arrows, but they don't help.

Agreed. I know they provide quick access to important information, but aesthetically they make the pages very difficult to absorb. There's a lot of information going on at once. From a UX/UI perspective, their presence muddles the hierarchy of information. The top of the screen is primarily used for page-specific header information plus navigation. These components fall in a different category altogether.

It should (rightfully so) be a low priority request compared to other fixes, but down the line it would be great to see an option to disable it or replace it with a simple "# of games back" + your next upcoming opponent. Right now, pages become very busy. If it makes longtime users apprehensive, it could be overwhelming for new users. Plus, the standings and schedule are shown on a number of screens, leaving the information to at times be very repetitive.

That exchange was a little surprising.

For me, OOTP16 was doing everything I wanted, and I play mostly older seasons so this may do it for me for updates? Especially after his snarky reply? Just because HE likes it? Well, okay then....

Like everyone here maybe he was having a bad day. Cut him some slack, he comes around most of the time to try and please everyone, those past weeks have been stressful on him I'm sure.

Regardless, I can certainly live with his decision on this, it's just a very minor issue for me. This OOTP17 is the very best one so far and the team hit another one out of the park, well done guys.

Markus has put a lot of blood, sweat, tears, and TLC into this game over the past 17 years. He has a vision for the game, he always has.
The new interface was discussed back and forth during beta. Markus does things his way for a reason, and his reasons have brought the game to where it is.

To suggest you're not going to buy the game anymore is a bit like saying you're going to take your ball and glove and go home.

Just because the developer made a design decision you don't like?

That's a bit overboard imo, but you're certainly free to make that decision.

We on Beta often argue against things in Markus's vision, but ultimately it's his decision, and imo he's made all the right ones with OOTP.

Mhmmm ..imo the most problem from the guys here that dont like the standing box in the header is that i makes no sense !

Why have a box on every page visible ? On some its than double to see ..
A header is a header with some information that belong there ..but the problem is that it dont even scale in any direction like see here :

That little arrow for the icon bar is just not placed right or

The calender should be aligned right not left to the buttons imo

But once again the magic word imo is OPTIONAL .. not hardcode some features 16 versions no one asked for ...

just my two cents .. and hopefully we get a new skin without it or even make it optional in a future patch ..so long we have to live with it sadly.

Good points about Markus, Buster. You're right that he is normally very courteous.

To be honest, MY point about not buying the updates anymore was directed more at the fact that they offer very little to me as a historical player. It is more frustrating getting used to a new game than it is worth.

In fact, if there was a way to just buy the current season WITHOUT buying the updates, than I would be happy. In fact, of the new features listed, I can't think of one that "floats my boat".

But, in re-reading my post, it does seem like I indicated a cause and effect. I apologize for that.

It starts to go over the team menu part. Doesn't look clean but it is what it is. Players having that many awards is pretty rare, I suppose.

I am as big an OOTP and Markus fanboy as there is and I must say I hate the standings box in the upper right hand corner. I find the game extremely astheticaly pleasing and this one box is an eye sore, sort of like a big neon frame around the Mona Lisa.

Markus - Please reconsider your position on this issue. I don't think make users choose between their best resolution and being stuck with this is the best option for your otherwise outstanding game. Of all of OOTPs many strengths the customization is probably the best, allowing users to customize the game to thier liking is amazing and I hope that tradition continues.
