Game Crashes - Page 2

I installed it just fine on my windows desktop, still having trouble on Macbook pro. It doesn't even open, it just reads that "OOTP 17 has closed unexpectedly" seems like I'm not the only one with this issue.

Yes. I've been able to play on my Windows, but unable to on my mac. Won't even install. I've tried all the suggestions.

I'm curious if the steam version will bypass whatever the error is?

I just had a game crash while I was viewing a game and I was playing with the game settings, turning on and off the play by play and/or sound. I wish i could be more helpful but I failed taking a screenshot

I just installed the Beta 17.2 Build 31 on my Mac. I was having an issue trying to play a game using 3D view and so far it's okay.

Like some of you using a Mac, I have not had an issue with the install or even the program opening.

Will try to get more details for you but Have had 2 crashes in two attempts to run a historic exhibition series. Once with the previous version and once with the version that we released today.

In each case it was mid series, the first few games played out fine and around the 4th game it would crash mid game (was in the 10th inning this last time). Didn't notice anything specific that stood out about the game, no odd plays prior.

Playing on Windows 10. Trying to manage the Red Sox through this season. In 5 attempts I haven't been able to get 30 games into the season without it crashing. Never had this problem with previous OOTP versions. Going to stop playing for a while. Bummed out.

This game is currently unplayable for me, everytime it crashes the league database becomes unsavable and the entire league up to that point is screwed up.

Also can confirm that it tends to happen after wild pitches and passed balls in 3D mode.

I'm running the MAC version and I started a standard league and when playing out game #2 it crashed in the middle of the game. Nothing special was happening.

So I started a new season, set everything up, got the first game going and before first pitch it crashed again.

Pretty random and I'm at a loss.

I got 2 crashes so far in ~30 games both in 3rd view and was bunting to the advance the runner from 1st in extra innings. Both times the bunt looked like it was a grounder and as soon at the infielder threw the ball game crashes. Kinda bummed bc I didn't save scum.

I should have just waited to buy the game after a few patches. Release day purchase is terrible for all games tbh.

PS: Using Windows 7, 64 bit. Both crashes home field @ Rogers Center (Jays stadium)

My game is crashing when I try to start a New Standard Game. I don't even get past the home screen-just "ootp17.exe stopped working".

Steam Version, Windows 8.1

E-mails sent with dropbox link. CTD every August 29th in my league. Oddly enough I was also getting a lot of CTDs sometime in August last season in my league, but by just advancing day-by-day I eventually got past it. Unfortunately, my save is now right up against the CTD day in my current league and it's crashed 30 some times in a row. Zipped up the save file and sent to Matt and Markus.

Mine has been crashing it seems whenever it starts to "Creating Free Agents". But other times, it's just random times during simulations

Thanks, but I was unable to reproduce the crash, it simulates fine here. Maybe you computer has some defective RAM or anything running in the background that interferes with OOTP. An active virus scanner may cause problems too.

I know this is just a temporary setback. You guys do great work, I'm sure it'll be fixed in due time

Hey,

New to OOTP and am loving it! However, it keeps crashing to desktop now in my League in mid-June. I uploaded all the saved game files to my OneDrive...who do I send the link to?

Anything other than the saved games folder needed?

FYI - playing the Steam version in Windows 10. Core i7 2.4 cpu with 16 gigs ram if any of that matters.

Looking for the same information...

Game has crashed last three games, all in 3D mode...last time is was during a past ball...

Had the beta version, both the first and second...zero crashes...

With me, it seems like it happens for no rhyme or reason. Though, it's usually when it's trying to "do" something. Not while simulating, but it does some sort of report and then "OOTP17 has stopped working". Oh well. I'll wait for the patch.

Constant crashes, either leaving a game log or just clicking "Finish Today." I'm about ten days in the first season.

Crashed 3 times for me as well. All in 3D mode. All while "action" was occurring during the play. The game simply hangs at that point. I will go back to Broadcast mode and see if that fixes the issue.

For reference, I play in 3D mode, wide-angle viewing. (I love this view, btw) I am the Kansas City Royals with the standard roster set that came with the first beta version. The crashes have occurred at U.S. Cellular Field (White Sox). I have not experienced any other crashes prior to this. I simply closed the program when it began to "hang" so I did not officially get a crash report. Hope this limited information is useful.

As a follow-up, I'm about 50 games into the season and I'm running this on a Dell Inspiron; Windows 10 64-bit; i5-6200U 2.5 GHz; 8 GB RAM; integrated Intel HD 520 graphics card. Finally, the game has worked excellently in both laptop and tablet mode.
