How Can Commission Change Change a Team Owner?

I run a fictional league and would like to change on of the team owners. I know the AI does this occasionally. Is there a way for me to essentially mimic the AI - somehow force a sale or retirement of an owner, then create a news story to make it seem like there is a new ownership group taking control?

What happens to "former" owners of teams, do they remain in history somewhere?

What's the best approach for me to manually change an owner with OOTP17?

Thank you!

It's not possible to manually retire an owner or have him die or sell.

What you can do is go to the team page, click on settings, then open owner profile, click the edit tab and change his name, age, birthdate, nationality, picture if you wish.

Once you've done that, you can go to the news section and write a story that will appear in the league news.

OK, thank you. Too bad we can't edit that manually, but at least we can edit the name, etc.

So does OOTP keep any owner history? For example, if the AI has the OWNER A sell the team or retire, is there somewhere in OOTP that historical information about OWNER A is kept? If not, then I guess having a new owner is a simple as editing the exiting one since no information is stored anyway for prior owners. Thoughts?

Not saved. It has been requested for a few versions now to expand the league history to cover more on managers, owners, etc. Hopefully that will make it in someday.
