How are ratings calculated?

Can someone please explain how player ratings are calculated. I do not understand how Marco Estrada has such a high movement rating, he gives up a ton of home runs. In the editor, it says he would give up 25 homers per 900 at bats. He probably would give up more like 33 per 900 at bat. Can anyone offer any insight.

ZIPS projections get made into a formula and then translated to OOTP ratings basically.

Thing is, it seems some ratings are indeed a bit off, especially pitcher's movement and batter's power. Something might have gone a bit wrong there. We're looking into it and working on fixing any errors

Was ZIPS used for minor leaguers as well?
