Don't post here much, but I've been playing this series since around the turn of the century. I'm a big historical sim guy (played them all going all the way back to MicroLeague and Haffner), and I must admit I wasn't thrilled with that part of OOTP until around 3 or 4 versions ago, where it clearly had evolved into the BEST historical sim yet created. The only thing missing for me was some basic visual presentation of what was happening in the play-by-play. (After all, if someone like Dave Koch could pull it off, Markus surely could.)
And has! Love the new 3-D wide mode! And I'm really looking forward to the OOTP community creating tons of 3-D ballparks over the next several months. ![]() =================================== My suggestion: in the marvelous historical exhibition mode, would it be possible to add an option where each game in the series could be played in the era of the home team? Thanks again Markus for making what was already a masterpiece even better. |

Have to chime in here - been playing since V2 and typically take a super macro approach, simming months at a time, jumping in to run different teams trying to reverse fortunes (both ways, LOL) . Have had little patience simming out games. Surprisingly to me, the 3D animation, which I thought I had no use for, will likely force me to become a little more micro in my approach.
Huge fan of the OOTP team - bravo on exceeding expectations once again. |

I think he meant the era would change as the series shifted home fields of the teams. The 1977 yankees home games play as 1977, but the games played in 1906 cubs, plays as if it was deadball 1906- not just once choice for the whole series. Maybe something for later in the summer to add...
