Players coming from nowhere
I started a Historical league, year 1890.
I imported all stats up to that point. I had the inaugural draft. I set import historical rookies. I checked use random rookies from all eras (1891-2015) I also UNCHECKED enable reserve clause. In year 2 of simulation a group of new players who where not yet in my game became free agents. Example Babe Ruth 34 years old Jeff Bagwell 33 years old Milky Cabrera 29 years old and so on. Where are these players coming from? How do I stop them from coming in as free agents? Note: The random players draft is working correctly. Thank you. |

Note:
Started new season, 1890. All variables remained the same except this time I CHECKED enable reserve clause. This time it added all the players into the RULE 5 draft. I had 186 players eligible for the Rule 5 draft in 1890. I running the mac version of this game. |

i think your problem is: "I checked use random rookies from all eras (1891-2015)" i've never used it, but i suspect the game is just gathering players at random and placing them in your free agent pool. Just a thought, not certain.

Update:
Started new season, 1890. All variables remained the same except this time I CHECKED enable reserve clause. And, I UNCHECKED rule 5 draft. This time it added 40 random players to each teams roster. Some players were playing on 2 different teams at the same time. |

I don't play historical yet but I'm thinking that mitchkenn may be correct. Try UNCHECKING the "use random rookies from all eras" and see if that corrects your issue.

I suggest either playing random debut historical without historical minors, or straight up/vanilla historical with or without historical minors (your choice here because it's straight historical) until we know for sure if random debut historical and historical minors can truly co-exist. There's the other complication that random debut historical probably works better with neutralized stats, and you can't use neutralized stats with historical minors, as the minor leaguers have no neutralized stats. There's been a sea change between OOTP16 and OOTP17, and until we get the lay of the land a little better, it's probably better to play it safe.
