Face Gen

How come only some players have the face gen? How can I get it so all players have face gen? I'm just starting up with the Brewers and I see most the big names but some of the smaller players like Eric Young and all the minor leaguers are just a team logo.

Thanks

There are only close to 900 of the MLB approved FaceGens in game, which are said to be of higher quality than previous FaceGens. In order to get one, I think (someone will surely correct me if I'm wrong) a player had to be on a major league roster at the time of release - therefore no minor leaguers or free agents or minor league free agents. The All-In-One is apparently being worked on and should be out eventually, and that should cover the rest of the guys for modern leagues. For historical FaceGens, you need to go to OOTP mods and download and install them (scroll down to historical section). I think that covers everything. OOTP mods has some really cool FaceGen stuff if you check it out.

So the all in one will not overwrite the official facegens?

When it's ready it will. You have to set it up so that you extract the fg_files to your OOTP Baseball 17 folder. It will stop when it hits the first one (A.J. Ellis I think) and ask you if you want to overwrite/replace the existing file with the new one? Hit the "No to all" button and it won't overwrite any of them. I imported all 27,000 plus of my facegens into my fg_files folder this way earlier today. Not sure yet if they'll show up properly in game as I'm still working on my other annual modifications to the database, but I can confirm that they are all in my fg_files folder which has swelled from 866 to 27,000+. Therefore, it should work. *crosses fingers*

But when you install it in-game, I've never seen that message

Oops. Sorry. I was talking about transferring my collection of FaceGens from OOTP16 to OOTP17 outside of the game. I imagine it would overwrite those 800+ FaceGens that come with the game in the interest of speed if you use the within game option. If you've already done this, I would imagine you now have two choices: 1) Do a fresh install of the game, but do not unlicense/re-license it or 2) Accept it as it is now. Up to you how you want to address this now.
