Minors players without minors teams

I like to play alternate history, re-running MLB history with fictional teams but real players. (I'm doing one right now, starting in 1893.)

Is there a way to have the historical minor-league players available without the actual historical minor league teams? If so, then no more fictionals in my universe!

Maybe in a later version.

Change the real team names to fictional team names. Then move the players around so it doesn't look like real teams .
