Historical Minors Bust Rate

I want to try out the new historical minors feature, obviously.

A couple of questions for people who have used it.

1) What year would you recommend starting off with?

2) I'm also really eager to see whether famous busts stay busts or if they become successful. In order to do that do I need to change talent randomness or will some of the players just succeed and others fail? i want to see what it would be like if Matt Bush was successful and a few of the others that I want to learn more about.

Any ideas?

1. Not really a recommended year to start, this is personal preference. What era do you like/want to see the most?

2. No need to adjust talent randomness. If you want players to develop randomly, disable recalc.

I should definitely know the answer to this but where is Recalc again?

When you first start up the game, one of the options is to use the OOTP talent and development engine, or recalc based on real life stats.

You're gonna want to use the OOTP development engine option.

I started a game in 1901, then activated the historical minors in 1920. Iv'e had quite a few gems and busts with minor league guys.

Most noticeably, this guy. Paul Paynick Register Statistics & History | Baseball-Reference.com

Never even made it to the majors in real life, but in my game he just won the Cy Young award in 1939 after going 23-6 as the ace of the National League champion Cardinals.

How did you "activate" the historical minors in 1920?

Go to leauge settings, then the financials tab, the option will be there once you hit 1920.

"import and maintain real minor leagues"

That is EXACTLY what I was looking for. You're the best.
