PbP Sync in 3D Mode

It looks awesome, definitely. But the play by play is totally screwed up, at least for me - completely out of sync. I know it says use Short PbP Detail in 3D Mode, but even doing that, all the action happens instantly as soon as I press the button, instead of waiting till the appropriate time in the play by play like OOTP16 did. Also, Short PbP Detail isn't very much fun. It says things like:

2-1 Pitch: Fly out, F6 (Line Drive, 6)... Lined into DP, 6-4 (Line Drive, 6) Lined into DP 6-4 (Line Drive, 6)

Not as enjoyable a way to watch a game unfold. The full detail version would say something like "lined to short, out there, the runner tries to get back, double play!" I mean, I get it that wordy descriptions could mess up the sync, but it wasn't a problem with OOTP16, and like I say, short detail isn't synced either.

That said, love the visuals. Even the little hats are in the team colors.

Not really a bug I don't think, just the way it's executed, but I agree. I'm fully switched over to using 3D mode now, I like it a lot, but I do hate what i'm missing from the lack of immersion using short pbp. I wish it at least still gave the pre at bat and post at bat flavor text if sync'ing the action is too difficult at this point, but I look forward to when I can read and see the same action on screen.

As I play more, it seems like it's all because the pitch triggers instantly as soon as you press the button. Even the bat sound effects happen instantly, before the ball has a chance to get there. In OOTP16, whether in 3D or 2D mode, the animation and sound effects waited to trigger until the PbP got to the pitch being thrown. If I was to wildly speculate, I would think maybe it might have something to do with the new multithreading abilities?

Also, even in 2D mode, I'm getting chunks of PbP all at once instead of one line at a time. Not consistently, and I've changed the speed settings all around, but sometimes it'll start out going one line at a time and then it'll just throw out the rest in a chunk so you have to scroll up to see what happened. OOTP16 did a similar thing only when you were about to get a choice to send the runner an extra base, but even that was one line at a time and just sped up - this really does seem instant, which again makes me think it might be because of faster processing...

Same here. And if you uncheck the 'pause between plays' box, wow, it's like a speed metal concert

To be fair, I've gotten used to it now, and any annoyance is outweighed by how awesome the movement is. I love how they walk back to the dugout after a strikeout... And to top it off, the home field dugout is on the first base side, the way life oughta be...

Another tactic that may or may not be useful to you is using the PbP speed, Normal or Slow and setting the display to line instead of character. Different combinations seem to work a little better for some settings and folks than others. Experiment. The short PbP is, right now, the best option to optimize timing. I agree, using it feels a bit like watching a show in black and white; there's a lot of color missing.

With time, it'll all come together. This is very good beginning, though.

When you hit a walkoff and you're coming home, the people you're headed towards ought to be happy.

We're working on the syncing issues. Essentially, we have to have the 3D happen at the specific speeds - we never adjust that for the PBP. And we try to make sure the PBP of the action happens immediately after the on-screen view, although as mentioned, that won't always line up perfectly.
