Can't he get on one of the MLB TV shows that focuses on fantasy games? A segment on another way of managing baseball? And yes, the fact that he's not American or from a big baseball country would be a quirky draw.

Yea, it depends.

If he's still coding, then yea, he has to be there. But I wouldn't think there are any substantial design decisions going in at this point. The feature list, the look and feel of the UI, ect have all been set. And he probably is the guy who decides which bugs are "shippable" and which are "needs to be fixed before shipped".

I would think the higher level stuff like, getting the game on steam, marketing, ect would be eating time as well.

But this is all speculation, I have no idea how his company is run.

I have to imagine that a number of Spring Training goers would get a real kick out of meeting the German guy who made the greatest baseball game ever.

And Spring Training is a great place to do it as you could hit a number of parks in a short period of time at a fair price. Of course, you'd have to leave people at home to work on the game in crunch, but it'd be a huge opportunity.
Well, whoever meets me would have to have plenty of beer and booze with that crazy German software developer

I'm a huge fan of European football(soccer) so I absolutely get the frustration of not being able to see the game live. Sure we have MLS here, and its great, but its certainly no substitute for a big European match.
