Coaching suggestion

This may have been asked before but, I have played some FHM 2 and noticed that coaches have ratings such as: coaching goalies, or coaching defense, etc. Will OOTP 17 have this, or will it be like last year where it won't give ratings for coachs

OOTP has actually evolved in the opposite direction. Versions 15 and lower had coach ratings as you describe. With version 16, the whole coaching ratings system went to reputation. There are still actual ratings beneath the hood (you can go into commissioner mode and look at a coach's ratings in the editor), but the feeling was that reputation was a more realistic measurement.

Reception of this change by the community has been mixed.

Personally, I don't mind it much except that I have very limited information when I want to take a HC from my minor league team and make him a Mgr somewhere else, I feel like I have much less good information to support my decision. I don't think there are plans to roll it back to the old way.

I'd like the actual ratings shown for online leagues. I dislike that only the commish can see the ratings.

He only sees them if he goes into the editor and if your commish is going into the editor for that to get some sort of advantage there are much bigger things he can look at.

I like what they have done hiding the ratings and I agree that more information should be provided to the player in order to make an informed hiring decision. Especially when hiring for the lower levels.

Suggestions:

Just because we can no longer see ratings doesn't mean that people who have dealt with this coach don't have opinions about that coach. Under the manager's general personality trait add information bars about what his players, his supervisor, and the local media think about his performance.

What do his players, his coaches, and the local media think about how he teaches hitting, teaches fielding, and his overall demeanor? These bars should not be fixed or static. They should be fluid and change with circumstances over time. They should trend upward as he gets more experience, if he is any good.

The Players bar should reflect a mixture of his actual rating, how his personality interacts with his player's personality, and whether the player is maximizing potential. The Supervisor bar should reflect a mixture of the actual results his players produce, his actual ratings, and how his personality interacts with the manager (supervisor). Lastly, The Local Media bar should reflect a mixture of his actual ratings, his reputation, and his overall personality.

Yes I know that a shady commish can look at player ratings and even edit players in his/her favor, but I'd like the commish in online leagues to be limited in what he/she can do when it comes down to players and personnel.

I hated this change in 16. Flat out hated it.
