New Schedule Request

Need a new schedule for upcoming Preplay.

2 Leagues---3 Divisions---5 Teams

165 Games

Inter-league play allowed

45 inter-league games...one 3-game series against all inter-league teams

15 games against each team in division...(6H/9A), (9H/6A)--three game sets...and maybe one or two sets of (7H/8A), (8H/7A)...which allows for the occasional four game series...randomly generated in division

6 games against all other teams in same league (3H/3A)

Different start times throughout the year...ALL Sunday games start at 1:00 or 4:00 PM...and scattered days off as well

All-Star Game scheduled

Schedule start...last Monday in March to allow for the extra three games...and if possible one or two scheduled doubleheaders per team each year on Sundays.

Is a schedule like this possible and if it is..can someone take a crack at this one?

I think this schedule is a challenge!

I think the numbers tie out correctly, so I think in theory it can be done.

Doing the math here: if every series was a three-gamer, the schedule would last 28 weeks. However, because each team plays six divisional four-game series (three each against two teams), the schedule actually ends up as 27 weeks, one longer than modern MLB as per the original post.

The only hitch is the doubleheaders combined with the lack of nondivisional four-game series. Ideally any 8H/7A matchup would contain a Sunday doubleheader as part of the 8H, but this may be hard to lay out. Under this proposal, each team would play either two doubleheaders at home or two doubleheaders away, but never one at home/one away.

I am not experienced with unbalanced schedules, I'll defer to Hip for the actual schedule creation.
