Non-Division League(s) ?

Perhaps there already is a way to do this, but I'd like to have either two leagues without any divisions, or just one league with no divisions.

Is there a way to do this, or will there be in OOTP17?

Also, can an All Star Game still be played if there is only one league (I assume not, but just wondering)?

1. Technically it's a "one-division" subleague, and yes, it's possible to have a league without splitting it into divisions. Make sure to disable playoffs in League Setup.
2. An ASG can be played with one subleague, but only if there are an even number of divisions. This means that a divisionless configuration can't play an ASG.

If you have a one division league, but two separate leagues, then do you still disable playoffs? For example, what if I have two leagues, each with 10 teams. I want to have the top three teams of each one division league play each other. The best team gets a bye, and the 2nd and 3rd place team play a wildcard. Do I still disable playoffs?

Thank you!

It's possible to have play-offs with 1 sub league/1 division setup, no need to disable.

The only time you should disable playoffs is one subleague/one division.

That sounds good. One other related question. Since you have to have division, you then need to name your division. A lot of news stories refer to winning the "East division" etc. but this is really winning the league. Any thoughts on how to make this "fit" with the news stories.

I'm thinking perhaps you have an American and National League, but then one league is all East and one league is all West. Or, do I just name the division "AL" and "NL" divisions. So the news would say something like..."New York wins the AL division" even though it's really the American League.

Thoughts?

Please explain why playoffs should be disabled?

This is not necessary.

What I did in my league was rename the Silver Slugger and made that my first All Star team. I've also thrown around taking the Gold Glove and making it the second All-Star team, but haven't done that yet. Just an option.

Well really all the Silver Slugger and Golden Glove are is an all offense team and an all defence team, so I suppose it makes sense.

Yeah I changed the name of the award and disabled the GG entirely for now. But it's certainly a way around the All-Star Game issue in smaller, one division leagues.

For playoffs, I have them enabled. The only thing that doesn't show up is the runner-up in League History, but if you track your league it's easy to note if you're interested in the overall history.

This isn't correct. Only disable playoffs if you don't want any playoffs and want the first placed team named champion. A single league without divisions can still have playoffs. How many teams make the playoffs is entirely up to you.

This. Use the customizable playoffs for this!
