Pitcher Injuries

I know in previous versions, when a pitcher is injured at the end of an inning and his spot is due to bat in the next inning, you had to use a position player if you did not want to insert another pitcher to hit. And then after the half inning was over, the position player had to pitch to at least one batter before he could be removed in favor of a another pitcher. Has this been fixed in the upcoming version? I know it has been brought up in previous threads.
I am using the final patched version of 16 and this still happens occasionally.

A perennial issue. If we keep asking, someday it might finally be fixed.
