I have a computer I don't use all that often with TB2.5 on it and Windows 7 Home. In terms of being user-friendly, 7 is BIG step down from XP, and not surprisingly TB2.5 is refusing to run on it.
It is installed on a user account with administrator privileges but constantly returns the error message: "In order to finish initializing, this application must first be run by a user with administrator privileges. "Please contact your system administrator for help. 5-2" I'M the administrator! And, the error message gives me no way even to get at the problem (whatever it is), let alone fix it. All I can do is click it off! I looked at one of the FAQ posts, which mentioned making certain the license-control box was checked. That thread starts by directing one to open the start button and enter "run." But, like I said, 7 (and 8) are pieces of crap, and there is no place to enter "run" on the start menu. Does anyone here have any other procedure which might work? |

Go to the Start button and try typing in RUN in the window just above it. Been awhile but I think I did that once.

Thanks, Cap, for the effort, but I'm still getting the same error message from eLicense Control:
"In order to finish initializing, this application must first be run by a user with administrator privileges. "Please contact your system administrator for help. 5-2" I am the administrator; I own the computer. It wants me to do something, but I don't have a clue re what to do. |
