More Accurate HS and NCAA Model?
Markus,
Does OOTP 17 plan on having a more robust and realistic NCAA Model? If not is something we can push to have for OOTP 18? There is something very exciting about watching a HS Player preform well have to negotiate decision to enter a top level College or the MLB Draft and then rise to stardom. Would be cool if you could click on Melbourne HS and see a gym wall with banners like MLB Pros XXXX XXXX NCAA XXXX XXX Would be cool. Matt |

Probably not anytime soon. Just imagine the number of players / teams / leagues and realistic tournament rules to get this done properly. It's just way too much right now. Maybe OOTP 21 or so

On this note, how hard is it to make a decent NCAA feeder? I assume you need to download an NCAA league mod, set it as a feeder for your league and adjust a ton of settings?

Just allowing CWS style playoffs (I appreciate that thats much easier said than done) would be enough to let the community mod a more realistic NCAA game.

Indeed. Enhanced associations plus CWS style playoffs would make NCAA (and probably HS, but they doubtless have their own playoff quirks) mods relatively simple for the community.

Markus,
Yeah maybe I got out of hand LOL, but what about why Cryomaniac said above? "Enhanced associations plus CWS style playoffs would make NCAA (and probably HS, but they doubtless have their own playoff quirks) mods relatively simple for the community." |

Keep in mind Markus said the same thing two years ago about Historical Exhibition Games and Series :-) No pressure though Markus lol

Seems to me that it would be easier to set an age minimum for a high school league and then set a max number of years eligible. That would eliminate alot of the age issues we have with some players playing for 5 years in h.s. I've even had sever players play for 6 years lol. Oh, I also wish you can daisy chain feeders as well.
I know this is slightly off topic so I apologize. |

What about some simple rules..
1) Is feeder a school 2) If it is then the game should know school runs Aug - June and limits system during those months 3) Then limit the min a player can stay HS - 4 (Sorry ROYCE Harper, no GED here all 4 years) 4) Then limit the max a player can stay if you set it to COLLEGE, you can limit it to 4 and MIN at 1 Just a thought. The issue with HS schedules is the OOTP cant really handle seasons occuring in more than one calander year, and i suspect that changing that would be a PITA.

Cryomaniac,
You are correct, I did say Aug-June, however their season starts in Jan and runs through April, so that is the same year. I just meant something like players are created in August and leave in June |

It would be awesome to have a full Little League set up as well as a feeder to HS. I'd love to see little D Love, Jr. tearing it up the t-ball circuit and eventually getting to the big show...
Now that I'm thinking about it, maybe also add a women's pro softball association and then add a little role-playing element so I can get my star major leaguer to eventually procreate with my star pro softballer and have little star babies whose career history will show domination from t-ball through the big leagues... |
