But mostly, all the GMs now have something like 10 new ratings, everything from a trading frequency to their own evaluation methods, so mostly instead of playing against the "OOTP AI" controlling all 30 teams, you now face 30 unique GMs. So if you're lucky, your league will have 29 Ruben Amaro's you have to face off against. If you're unlucky, you might have 29 Theo Epsteins.

How will or will this work in an imported league?

Will GM's in an imported league have these ratings randomly created?

Will we have to delete current office personnel and create new ones to have this feature in an imported game? Is that even possible?

So if the game actually can simulate GM behavior... The Theo Epstein Gm will sign players based on pissing off division rivals rather than whether its actually the best signing for the team?

Their ratings for the new stats will be generated on import, so yeah, they'll essentially be randomized.

Okay, we're not *that* precise on mimicking real GM behaviour. Maybe next year

Okay, I have to admit...this sounds VERY intriguing.

I wasn't that excited about the increased minor leaguers and face gen, since I almost always do fictional simming so it's not like I benefit from those features. The new GM model, however, looks like it's going to add a lot of richness to the game for people like me who prefer to play GM, trading/signing/drafting without managing each individual game.

Cubs fired him in 2019 in my game. Now he's with Texas.

I assume human GMs get these traits too? An fun and interesting wrinkle for online leagues..

Smarter, more cunning AI GMs

This is/was a problem specifically with catchers & First basemen. Teams seem to sign 2-3 catchers or first basemen that are capable of starting and overpays them. Its not a thing where one team decide to make this roster move its league wide. I am a few patches behind so I am not sure if this is still a thing in 16. Praying that its gone in 17.

Tigers had one thing to their advantage. Caberra was origionally a 3B and adding Fielder was a no brainer by keeping him at first and moving Caberra to third. If I recall correctly Martinez was on a year long disabled list at the time with plans to keep him as a DH and 3rd backup catcher. To me it was a good pickup and smart thinking or planning ahead.

I know. Would have been nice if we had kept him. But mr. loria, MIA Marlins owner, baseball genius that he is, said lets trade him to the DET Tigers.

Brilliant!!!

Not to derail this thread but does...

"Smarter, more cunning AI GMs and managers, with individualized personal approaches to roster-building, scouting, and finances"

...also mean that the AI regarding negotiations with both free agents and extension contracts (which I realize is more "player-oriented" than GM and Mgr) has also seen some love?

How about when shopping a player, the AI offering more than a 1 for 1 trade? Or when initiating a trade, asking for 1 player that makes it work as opposed to maybe a combination of 2 or 3?
