Smarter, more cunning AI GMs
From the announcement:
"Smarter, more cunning AI GMs and managers, with individualized personal approaches to roster-building, scouting, and finances" So any sneak peak what has been added when compared to v16. Do GM's have more "traits" which define how they handle their team etc? |

The game and new features look awesome, already very excited! Looking forward to hearing more about the AI trading as this is one area that was occasionally frustrating in OOTP 16.
- Will the AI offer more realistic trades? - When shopping a player will you be able to receive offers including multiple players and/or cash, as opposed to just one player? This would be very useful when rebuilding (i.e the Phillies trade of Hamels last year when they sought multiple prospects in return) Can't wait to pre-order and play the game! |

I had a feeling you guys would address this because in OOTP16 the GM's have bare bones pages where you can't tell how good one is from another. There wasn't good detailed information or rating sliders on their tendencies like with coaches. I'm certainly happy about this.

Hopefully the AI will offer more realistic trades
At the very least, the AI has more awareness of their situation so shouldn't offer you trades against their self-interest.But mostly, all the GMs now have something like 10 new ratings, everything from a trading frequency to their own evaluation methods, so mostly instead of playing against the "OOTP AI" controlling all 30 teams, you now face 30 unique GMs. So if you're lucky, your league will have 29 Ruben Amaro's you have to face off against. If you're unlucky, you might have 29 Theo Epsteins. |

My biggest want is a trading engine where teams will trade off their older talent at the trade deadline. As of edition 16 it is still really hard to get older players with big contracts from bad teams at that time of the year.

A little bit off topic but in regards to the AI what about hoarding players? I noticed sometimes during free agency AI Half superstar players in certain positions and then they sign another superstar player in the same position for free agency in some cases they do that with a few different positions so they have an entire team including bench players of superstars little bench players are not getting played that much

Just wish i could get some of that to infect St Louis Cardinals management who refuse to spend their hoardes of cash on players they aren't 100% on.

To be fair that was in the AL with the DH so it's slightly different.

But they already had Victor Martinez as their DH, although he was injured the year they signed Fielder. But they signed Fielder to a multi-year deal, which made less sense considering.
