Winter League Advice
I've created the rough equivalent of an Arizona Fall/Winter League in my MLB game (basically I created an additional 30-team affiliated league and set the schedule to run from November-January). I wanted to have some games to play during the OOTP off-season, and I like the idea of putting the top prospects in our organization on one team for a couple of months.
I'm curious as to what level (AAA, AA, etc.) I should set this league to. Right now, I have it set at "Winter League", but am worried that once the league starts playing (I'm still in April in real time), the AI for the other teams will read this as the "lowest level" and fill it out with players that would normally be in Rookie Ball or Short Season-A. I want it to be geared towards guys in High-A and Double-A (three- to five-star potential with one- to one-and-a-half-star current ratings). I know I can set the level to Double-A, but then I'm worried that the AI for the other teams might "hold" their regular prospects for this league, and their players won't get the proper at bats/innings pitched during the summer seasons. I suppose I can set it to Winter League during the regular season and then switch it to Double-A in October, and hope the AI assigns guys accordingly. Anyone have any experience working with these? |

I can't speak for juggling things, but I can tell you that players see Winter League as LOWER than any minors, so make sure you don't set it as a "winter league" or you'll kill their morale.
