Helping a new user get up and running without frustration?

I am thinking of gifting OOTP to my brother. We both grew up playing Strat and I'm sure he'll love it. I think his first preference will be replaying seasons from the 60's and 70's ala Strat. IE probably no player development and such but just one season at a time replays. I also think once he sees how the game "lives" he will eventually move into career mode.

So I am thinking I need to d'load from add on central...

parks from the years needed

facepacks and\or the historical facegens.
I was surprised to see there are 18,000 facegens, wow! How inclusive are these for the 60's and 70's? You can combine packs and gens to cover all gaps? You can tell OOTP to prefer packs over gens or gens over packs?

Do all of this before starting a game so his game grabs the appropriate files.

Anything else I might be missing?

There used to be a facegen file on ootpmods that was by year so if you just want the 60's & 70's you could just put those files in the fg folder. Although it is easier just to use teh whole thing.

Reds 1 uniform set which starts around 1960. Gambo's historical logo set.
And if you dont use Gajmbo;s stadium photo set. JRP has some MLB The Show like parks from the 70's and 80's.
