Online League - Stadium design and or relocation
I've seen this in leagues before but have not seen it in a while. I run an online league, and have for the past few seasons (took over for a league that was on the brink of folding and have brought us back to relevance.) Now i'm just looking to add too it and potentially make it even better.
We have some smaller market teams that are struggling in terms of finances. I was looking for some sort of a way to jump start them but make it realistic in the process. We're almost finished with the year 2023 (Currently in September.) I was looking to add some sort of Stadium Design and or Relocation to the league. We started the league in 2013, so nothing has changed since then. I was trying to come up with "base" prices in terms of stadiums, seats, etc etc, and have it paid over a set term (5 or 10 years) but I haven't been able to come up with anything fair. Obviously my goal is to not allow say Oakland to move to Mexico City and go from the smallest market to an astronomical market in a blink of an eye so I think there would be some restrictions and thought process along with a league vote to approve of such a move. But I would like to see Oakland in that instance have to pay a yearly fee for such a move or even in a stadium design. I guess long story short, I was looking to see if anyone here has experienced this feature in an online league, and if so what the criteria was for such a thing. The payment structure, and so on. As far as relocation it would be up to a league vote with a set number needed for approval. I want to make it strict, but not too strict that it can't happen. Also there would be teams that cannot move regardless, a team that has won a championship in "x" number of years or any team that came into the league prior to 1970 (avoiding the Cubs moving to Alaska which I saw in one league...) On the stadium design front, I would think any team in a stadium that is 25 years or older would be eligible to design a new stadium.* This would increase fan interest, and could increase TV revenue and some other features inside of the game.* I'd love to hear some ideas, if someone already has some sort of formula for this or any sort of ideas.* Thanks in advance! |
