Those certainly not as "sexy" as 3D graphics or a shiny new MLB license that features current logos and uniforms, I sincerely hope that the behind the scenes stuff gets more than it's share of attention (frankly in each new version).

Contract negotiations

Knowing that there will be a wide range of player experience coming to 17 when it's released...
And knowing that there is a huge gap between the solo and online experience...
I do hope that negotiating both free agent deals and contract extensions for players (and frankly for managers, coaches, scouts, etc.) sees some love!

It's getting better, but can always benefit from additional improvement!

The Salary Page

I assume it's needed for projecting future budgets on the accounting page, but I always cringe when I see the arbitration demands for players over multiple years well in advance of their performance playing out.

It makes it way to easy to try and negotiate a deal (with a potential stud) over multiple years...more so if you start before any arb with their entry level deal.

It also makes it really easy to trade for players that "seem" a lock for future stardom before that has materialized.

If that arb number only appeared at the beginning of the off-season or possibly end of the regular season AND then only for the NEXT season, that would be more realistic, in my opinion of course.

BACK END OPTIONS

Thank you for the number of contract years option.

If there was a way to turn on and specify...

a) When an initial multi-year agreement could happen (for example, based on service time like 3, 4, 5 years required to at least have the game set the market with arb)

b) A set minimum percentage or amount for every team option year offered

c) A player option year cannot possibly follow a team option year

That would be HUGE. This would be much more geared to the online gaming environment (I think) but would be a huge addition to OOTP17 (or 19) IMHO.

Can't wait for the new version.
