Been playing the game for a couple of days using the historic mode, and the game is pretty good. Been having much fun playing with and drafting all the stars of yesterday. Good job so far :-)

Anyway, a couple of bugs I have noticed so far:
- When starting with Edmonton in the WHA, when I moved to the NHL Wayne Gretskys history displays his playoff stats as "Stanley Cup" stats. The regular season stats are displayed correctly.
- I have a couple of times not been able to offer a new contract to players. They ask me to submit my offer, but the submit offer button is greyed out.
- The dates in the top left corner are listed as "Ma, Ti, On, To, Fr, Lø, Sø" - the months similar - probably because my computer is using the danish language. But the game should ignore this and use the english weekdays as all the other game language is in english.
- When I moved from the WHA to the NHL with Edmonton I was fired as manager, eventhough I had ticked the option which disallows firing human managers.

Not sure if this is a bug:
- Many players who are obviously canadian (born in Canada etc.) have italian, french or another nation as their first nationality. Should this not be their second nationality? It just seems odd with all these flags from smaller hockey nations on the rosters. I know this is probably because the players ended up playing for these smaller countries later in their careers, but this should not make that nation their primary nation.

Suggestions:
- Would it be possible to include an option to completely leave out the placeholders where players faces are? Maybe it is just me, but I think it makes the game look a bit cartoon'ish. Would rather have them not displayed at all when no real photo is present.
- It would be nice to be able to offer contracts to staff the same way as to players, instead of having to choose between 3 pre-determined options.

The usual rule I follow is, if they played for a national team at some point in their career, they get that nation as the first nationality listed. It doesn't have any effect in the game right now, but if we ever get international play added to historical mode (sometime after it gets added to the main game, of course), it'll need to be that way.

Yeah, the available jobs should be showing up on that list. Not sure if enabling/disabling cannot-be-fired might have done something, but we'll check it out.

Edit: Oops, now that I think about it, I think I know what's happening there - the AI will normally fill GM vacancies immediately unless there's a human candidate who needs to accept/reject an offer. So if no team wanted to hire you (definitely a possibility in a two-year period if it was a small league and your reputation was low), you'd never see jobs appear as open on that list.

flipped thru 10 pages of this forum and did not notice if this has been happening to others....mystery goals....

In back to back games, there was suddenly a change in score at the end of the period.....a PP goal had been scored....not noted during pbp or in the highlight column. Boxscore was correct. Then the next game I think I'm chasing a 2-1 deficit, goalie is pulled....game ends....score says 3-1....a goal had been scored at 16:59......no mention again in pbp, highlight column or on ice shots.......only find out at end of game....

see photo....3 goals were scored by WPG in 3rd Pd....only 2 show up on ice and in highlight column....3rd goal supposedly scored at 16:59 not mentioned.

12/7 - I have tried several times...cannot send report with .dat files.....error message about timing out.....I'll just put this in the bin with FHM14....(I know too dramatic.....just frustrated).....will attempt again at a later date.

12/17 - Still trying to submit the zip file....this is the same response as 10 days ago:
"Request Time-out

Server timeout waiting for the HTTP request from the client.
Apache Server at ootpdevelopments.com Port 80"

I figured I'd come and post that I'm having the same issue still. I've been playing on my old laptop with no issues, on my new laptop I figured I would reinstall steam and give starting up the game another shot but have the same error saying the app is running when it clearly isn't.

I think JeffR said he's heading out on vacation until next week. I'm guessing there won't be a potential fix until then. Unless someone else is working on it.

Sucks I can't play my game too! Unless I start a new game until then I guess.

Minor bug. Version 2.4.29

I had a player score at even strength in a 5-3 win and the game report listed him at -3 for the game.

Only possibility I can think of to explain would be that the goal was scored during a delayed penalty call to the opponent. However, I think that should still be a +/- situation.

Playing a historical game with generating of players at 17 years old and a draft. For some reason many of the russian players, well i guess european players, and also i believe some north americans, seem to have their nickname as a last name? I'm playing commisioner mode. Its a little bit time consuming to find out who they are to change their name.

I'm a GM in an online league. We are on March 11th, 2020. I haven't received any league mail since December 15, 2020. Any reason why that might be aside from a bug? Thanks.

P.S. - I also noticed that I'll set training and, after I get the league file post-sim, that none of the training I actually set has occurred. Instead, it seems clearly orchestrated by the A.I., as it's training players I don't even have an interest in retaining beyond the year. I have training set to me in the manager options, so I have no idea what is going on. Is this a feature (akin to how in scouting, a scout will have no assignment once they don't find any interesting players) or a bug?

Edit: I uploaded the .dat files to the FTP as SportslgJWRH.zip, in case anybody over there wanted to take a look.

The same issue I had a couple versions ago is rearing its ugly head still in the latest version which I just grabbed and installed.

Brand new solo game, I'm the GM. Manager options are set to Assistant setting lineup, tactics and training, with all other functions held onto by me, including Roster Moves.

Started the season with a player injured but not on IR. The computer IR'd him for me and called up a replacement against my wishes. I had a full 23 man roster including the injured player.

IR is still listed as 14 days, when it's only 7 days in the NHL. I lose this player (10 days injured) for 4 days longer than I need to.

This has probably been reported, but I couldn't find it in forum.

On the "PLAY" screen, the next game for my team is currently listed as being September 23, 1972. The current date of game is February 25, 1973. Days until next game is 65381 days! And it always shows pre-season games as being next game.

I've had that happen too in a savegame recently. It was actually the first time I didn't set my lines personally and right away something didn't work like it was supposed to work...

Players' jerseys do not update when they move to a different team.

As well, in fictional mode, "major" level teams end up with very poorly rated (1.5-2 star) junior-age players who sit on the roster instead of being sent back to juniors to to the minors.

Wanted to report a bug I've experienced about three times, have been using the game maybe a week.

I am running Windows 10 and use an Anker mouse. It seems if I use the scroll wheel on the mouse and it moves "too much", the game crashes. Like maybe it has a buffer for the mouse movement and I saturate it? It's happened a few times.
