Fictional Schedule

Started a 24 team Fictional League... 2 Conferences with 2 Divisions in each conference.

I cannot believe how absurd the schedule is. Within my team's division, I am playing one team 9 times, one team 7 times and the other three teams only twice. I will not go into all my team's games, but the matchups vs. the rest of the league is just as crazy and lopsided.

I am very hopeful that the FHM Team will remedy this by allowing us to create our own schedules, or at least fix how the schedule is hard coded.

That's the actual NHL schedule format from 1992-93. But yeah, we'll be looking at adding some form of schedule importing.

Just went back and looked at the 1992/1993 NHL schedule. Looking at the Patrick Division Schedule. While is was not perfectly balanced, it was no where near as lopsided as the FHM schedule.

The NY Islanders played the 5 teams in their division 9 / 9 / 7 / 7 / 5 times.
While my team, in my fictional league, played teams 9 / 7 / 2 / 2 / 2 times.

I mean, to play three teams in your own division only 2 times, while I will play teams in other divisions 7 times, and some teams in the other conference 7 times is ridiculous.

Any possibility of a schedule editor like the one that's used in OOTP?

yea thats 84 games let me look at my schedule right quick. (never thought about this) mine is 7/3/3/2/2 and for a six team division its 2/2/2/2/2 in one division but oin the other is 4/4/2/2/2

Started the second season of my Fictional League. Schedule still out of whack. This has been an issue since FHM 2014. Is anyone going to fix this? Any improvement would be welcomed.

This really takes away from my immersion in the game just knowing how unrealistic the schedule is.

I'm about to start a 12 team league. I hope the schedule isn't that lopsided.

In another post in the Suggestions Forum, I've asked for either a Schedule Editor or Importer.

This is definitely a major issue with fictional play. Especially once you start expansion. Start with an 18 team, 4 division, 80 game league and expand to 20 teams and the teams don't even all play the same number of games (I get teams at 79 and some at 80). I had to hack the game to go straight from 18 to 22 games to get passed that.

I'm going to have to get Malte to take a look at this. The starting schedules for fictional leagues are based on real ones (that's a big part of the reason for limiting the league configurations), so they shouldn't be departing from reality that much, if at all.

Jeff, I can't speak for all schedule configurations, but I'm pretty sure the default 84 game, 24 team, 2 conference, schedule is messed up as far as the amount of games against division opponents.
