The settings.dat file is probably corrupted. If you go to your C:\Users\(your username)\AppData\Roaming\Out of the Park Developments\Franchise Hockey Manager 2\config directory and delete the settings.dat file there, the game will generate a new, valid file and will open properly.

It's counting down the seconds in game fatigue for the skaters so you can get an idea of their fatigue state without leaving that screen (there may be a discrepancy of a few seconds between the lines page and the displayed GF on the game screen depending on the viewing mode you're using.) We should probably change the label to GF from Fitness so that's a little clearer.

In every instance I've had extra players on the roster (ie: above the 20 minimum for dressed) and could easily just play a player in a different position. If the player being injured meant I didn't have enough players, then sure, lets call a player up but again, let me do that. Not automated by the Assistant.

Does all that make sense?

Thanks guys.
Yeah, it's working as designed at the moment, but I agree, if the assistant is only set to make line changes it really needs to be checking the current roster for acceptable substitutes before resorting to a callup like that.

Well I'm glad I'm not just being crazy! Why I'm a bit perturbed about it is that, as a GM-only player & one who has a "philosophy" the automated call-up kinda breaches my own rules (and the only way to enforce them is to set the lines myself).

Eg: I'm playing as the Hawks & want to keep Dano in Rockford this year to develop. 15 games in I suddenly find him on my active roster!

I put McDonagh on IR. Instead of dressing McIlrath on D the AI Assistant double shifts Stoll and puts rookie Lindberg on D?????? And the AI was so keen to dress McIlrath over Klein earlier in the season.

Major disconnect between the Cap Space on the Finances screen and the Free Agent Center.

The Finances screen says I have almost $6 million in cap space.

The Free Agent Center says I am over by $4 million.

This is a discrepancy of almost $10 million.

Thanks, Jeff. Having a problem with that though, when I get to the FHM 2 file my options are different. I can't find a settings.dat file anywhere. Any suggestions where to from here?

League Leaders

An entry in the league leaders should show the last team he played with in the league and not a team that is not in the league. If a player ends up in the minors, he should still have his last NHL club listed for league leaders. The popup should show his current team (as it does correctly).

In the example, Horcoff's logo should be a Duck's logo, not the Providence logo.

There definitely should be a settings.dat there, but I can't see the image you posted, I don't think the dropbox settings are sharing it properly. Can you post it directly to the forum using the "Manage Attachments" button?

I can confirm this works. Had two freezes in the opening minutes yesterday and both time the game progressed after switiching to full game mode and back to action expanded.

Ah, I see, wrong directory. After your username, you want the AppData directory, not Documents. Then following that down, go to \Roaming\Out of the Park Developments\Franchise Hockey Manager 2\config, and it'll be in there.

I'm simming the game as unemployed in commish mode.

In the screen displayed, I see some info that shouldn't be there, like a player payroll, active roster and cap space. Where are these numbers coming from? I am not on a specific team, so these should be "No Info" as well.

This does not seem right...

Minor data issue. Brendan Gallagher (MTL) 2013-2014 stats are logged as his 2012-2013 stats.

I have posted this on a few posts, but never had any obvious reaction.... These are likely already noted by the developers .. but

The drafts in the fictional league without a Junior League seem to have some problems....

-- I have seen 18 and 19 year old players get drafted even if they already had signed on to a team as a free agent

-- I have made a fictional league, and simmed 30+ seasons to allow for a league historical record to be in place....... after some years, it appears as thought team's stopped hiring assistant coaches....

Thanks!

Even on a larger screen size Mac (1600x1050) screen, there are stats that have ellipsis (…) in many of the categories. See example on sim.

There is ample room on the screen, but the columns are just way too narrow.

Macs and PCs may mostly use the same fonts nowadays, but the rendering engines are still quite different, and the on screen spacing is not quite the same. One needs to review all the layouts, unfortunately, on both devices when not giving ample space for display.

Does it make sense to calculate a career GR rating?

It seems to include in the average all the leagues/historical data where there isn't a GR calculated making the number artificially low.

Simmed about 10 years of FHM2 from standard start.

Ran csv export.

These are the skater and goalie stat exports I got.

No data at all... just headers.
