Well if computer is making some of trades they make and the fact that all the major players get to free agency in 2016 I doubt it would take too long.

End of my second regular season, I won the West with 52-23-7 for 111 points (Wsh won the presidents trophy). Here are player stats of my team, playoffs to come:

Got defeated in the 1. round by Chicago, Tampa won it all. Josi won Norris and Hall won Rocket Richard.

I don't think its unreasonable that in real life if the Oilers were willing to trade Nugent-Hopkins, their next 2 1st rounders, a 2nd rounder, and a bunch of other younger guys and picks they couldn't be a threat right away. Going to happen when you keep getting #1 picks for years.

As for the Ladd trade, he did only put up 27 points as shown in the screenshot above, so it's unlikely his ratings in the game correspond to his real life value.
