Yeah, I ran a test and took over the team that drafted Stransky and ran into the same thing you did. A Canadian signed at the same time had the return to junior option working properly, so it looks like it has something to do with nationality. I've uploaded the save so the guys can have a look inside and see what's going wrong.

Is there a way to make a created 16 year old player in junior be draft eligible for the NHL? I was playing with a friend yesterday and we created ourselves, simmed until we were 20 and we never got drafted. I assigned us to random QMJHL teams and based on our numbers I highly doubt we were passed over 3 times each.

Am I missing something?

I think I see the problem: when you create the players, their league rights for the NHL default to "free" (since the default created player is older than draft age.) But if you turn them into junior-age guys, you want to change the NHL rights to "none" - that makes them eligible for the draft.

In my custom league, I've noticed quite a few players who will make more money in the minors than in the majors. Is this by design?

No, that shouldn't be happening. The salary actually increases when you move them to the minor league? Is it a significant amount like 5-10x the salary in the major league?

Is there an All-Star game in the game? I've been through two seasons and don't recall seeing one come up, or the selections for the game in the emails.

If I change player's major role and he becomes unhappy, will he eventually accept the changed role, or will he stay mad for all eternity if I don't revert back to the origial role?

From what I've seen, the player will make the league minimum in the majors (550000) but make a million or more in the minors. I think it's only for the first year of contract. I'll put up a screenshot later if I can.

I don't think there is but is there any way to raise the cap floor in the modern NHL? I'm just wondering if doing that would force the AI to start spending more money on the players they should be spending that money on. As people have noticed teams don't always give players the money they deserve thus a lot of teams never have major cap issues. I'm wondering if raising the cap floor might make what the AI does a bit more realistic.

No, that won't affect the AI's behaviour in the way you want. And bear in mind that anything that makes the AI aggressive about pushing the cap limits can have extremely negative effects in the game - if nobody has much cap room and therefore can't take on additional salary, the options for teams that get into cap trouble get pretty ugly. Without a way to make salary dump trades, the AI starts doing things like squeezing every penny out of the small amount of cap hit they can hide in the minors, which leads to very good players being sent down, or not qualifying any of it's RFA's. That's why AI teams tend to be conservative in their spending, and the players accomodate that, to an extent.

Only preseason? Or the regular season as well?

Looking to the future... I am kind of wondering if they'll be a problem with salary

Are contracts done based on league or talent?

I have a 16 fictional league... I made all the players, and I made them mostly kind of overall type players.. 3.5 and 4s are the norm not the rare talent ...

So I am wondering if they "average" 4 start may get too much money... or should it all be based on the market? or is it mostly talent based?

It would be interesting to rate GMs and teams on how tight they stick to the cap and maybe have that modify the AI's behavior.

Someone please help before I pull my hair out:

Is there an "auto-fix" button for multiplayer? There are roster issues that I CANNOT get passed for some reason...and the team doesn't even play a game.

When logged in as commish, I click "AI Setup Organization" and nothing happens.

When I log in as that user's GM and set their team to AI Control, the same errors keep popping up.

Thank you! I have no idea how to get past this.

It's an award of some kind. Scroll over it and it should say what it was.
