Is drafting functional in historical mode?

Hi...

I started a historical game in 68.. I took over St Louis... I checked draft players box in new game settings.. but after the season was done...there
was no draft listed.. the next event after playoffs were June 30 Free Agents
file.... Did I miss something or is that non functional yet? thanks

The draft actually happens after July 1st. So just continue on to July 1st and then you'll see the event Pop up with the others.

Yeah, it works a little better in historical mode for the draft to happen after the season changes over on July 1. The expansion teams can participate that way, and since there are no other leagues besides the NHL (and WHA), the complications that would result from a July draft in the modern game aren't a problem.

I actually brought this up in the Quick Questions thread. My frist season had no draft then my second season had a draft that only had one round and the Candiens had every pick. Every single one.

Haven't seen that before. Montreal is team #0, so if there's some kind of data error that affects team ID's in a particular field, they'll revert to showing the Canadiens, so it sounds like something's gone wrong in that area. Could you upload the save so we can have a look at it? Instructions here, or just upload the zipped save folder to a filesharing site like filedropper.com or dropbox and PM me the link.

Ok, I just uploded it to the FTP thing. It's called "2014 Fantasy". Apparently the last time I played it I simmed past the draft by a few months. Hopefully it is still helpful to you!

My 16 team fictional league also seemed to have draft problems in my test_runs.... People were being drafted from other teams rosters ... ( I don't have a Junior League)

Might really have to check out the drafts, perhaps something has been overlooked
