Mid July, I'm on the FA page, then click the Transfer Tab. This gives a summary of each teams off season losses/acquisitions and on the right it shows the player value.
Player Value - is it a combination of his potential/actual, stats, etc used to determine this rating? Not looking for a formula or anything, just a general idea what it constitutes. In Baseball (OOTP), that figure is WAR, derived from performance. Just wondering is this a Hockey equivalent to WAR? Thanks This is an awesome page btw, well laid out, easy to read and lots of good info. |

Captain/Alternate Defaults
Just wondering where (if anywhere) and how you can you alter the default captains/alternates for a team? The Avalanche have incorrect captain at least; it has Iginla instead of Landeskog. Having to change at the beginning of the game alters happiness.

I went to the top tab, highlighted in red under League.
The Trade Frequency tab is found highlighted also in the League Details section. ![]() This is on the first date of the game (no days have been advanced). I don't know if it's available after that, but I would assume it would be, since only the Info section is invisible except on the 1st of July. |

If you have commissioner mode on, you could change the captains and alternates and then go to 'Reset Happiness of all Players' under League > Edit.

The AI will automatically select the 'best' captain and alternates during setup. If you want to change them without the happiness penalty, the easiest way is to make the change, drop into commissioner mode (in Manager Options) temporarily if you don't have it on already, and then edit the player's happiness back up (it's in personal details, near the bottom, on a 1-100 scale.)

Is there a way of turning down injuries. They are a little crazy ... in the preseason I am getting teams killed by injuries.

I don't think you can turn down the injury length of an injury, but you can turn down their frequency of happening. If you go to Game > Setup/Options you will see Injury Options on the top right. You can change the frequency of those injuries there (default is 1.25), or turn them off entirely.

Sorry to ask for a third time, but how do I delete the real life guys from the draft pool and use a 100% fictional draft? I feel it's too much of an advantage in a MP league.

That's really neat! But for clarification, does this mean you can change the variable length for an injury type, or only change the injury length for a specific player suffering from a specific injury? I think you mean the former, but I just wanted to make sure.

Easiest way I can think of (and it isn't very easy) would be to manually edit every real draft-eligible player to an extremely old age so they're not eligible for the draft - and you'd need to remove them from their current teams as well, as it's likely to cause them roster problems. The draft quality in 2016-2018 would be severely damaged, though.

Have to do something the length of time is just overboard. Most good players are getting injured for either 3-4 weeks. The number of injuries is concerning in preseason but overall not worried .... just the length on average.
