Your original point is valid at this time. One of the big reasons I want to step aside for at time. Feeling a little brain dead and not trusting some of the ID's I've even requested before (i.e. Roebuck). In my defense, not that it's needed, I did ID about 1,800 of the over 2,000 images on BC. Still don't know how!

Thank you for the apology, the teamwork and the understanding that this is a grind doing it "freestyle" as it were. This is a great group of exceptional baseball fans that I am honored (really) to be a part of.

Two guys that I had (previously) uniforms shopped on...O'Berry with the 1980 Cubs and Nyman with the 1976-7 White Sox....from the Topps Vault.

From Topps, Dan O'Brien who pitched 13 games over 2 years (1978-79) for the Cardinals (2 GS, 1-3, 5.90 ERA). Purchased by the Mariners in November 1979, then released during Spring Training 1980.

BTW The Nymans show the 1976 uniform but clearly date to Spring Training 1977 since the Sox wore the 1975 red pinstripes in Spring '76.

The Vault spit out a couple of Jesse Jefferson "match print" shots this morning. These are different from the Topps images we usually deal with (negatives and transparencies), here--these are prints--and this is the actual size they get posted in (in real life they are generally around 3.5" by 4", they say). But, in the interests of leaving no stone unturned, here they are.

I'm at my best with Mets images, but that doesn't mean I'm savant about them. I believe these are pictures of Ray Daviault (from today's Vault release). The man had very distinctive ears. But I certainly could be wrong and stand ready to accept a correction, if I am.

What does the Larry Fritsch reference mean? I remember ordering cards from him as a kid and have several of his minor league sets

Larry Fritsch produced a number of niche sets, one of which was "One Year Winners"--cards that depicted players whose major league careers were brief. There were (IIRC) three separate series, each with their own design, and they depict such baseball legends as Dan Thomas (The Sundown Kid), Joe Moock, and Eddie Gaedel. For many of the players, it would be their only cardboard appearance. Here's the OYW card of Ray Daviault.

As promised, I bought me some sheets of these. I think there were six such sheets in 1980 and the ebay auction I won only had four. No Jerry Coleman on my sheets, sadly, but Von Joshua, yes.

I had kinda thought they'd be like detachable cards but, no, they are rather flimsy glossy paper (like a Sunday newspaper insert or something).

I'll post some more of these at some point but I wanted to get Von Joshua up, since someone had specifically requested him.
