ASCII symbols in roster table

So I noticed these ASCII symbols next to the player, which seem to be related to the roster the player is in. But I couldn't find any documentation about it. Symbols include *, ^, + and #. What do they mean?

Click on your team page, Rosters & Transactions.

Read along the bottom of the page.
