Chicago Fire/Flames
As one of the more popular destinations in the United States for sports it was rumored that Chicago almost won the first bid as the first team into the O20 in the "ABA". No information was released explaining why but Chicago had some troubles behind closed doors dropping them to the 17th franchise to join the league. In remembering the Great Chicago Fire of 1871 they decide to name their franchise "Fire/Flames". Instead of remember this is a negative way Chicago wants to embrace it that the citizens of the city can overcome obstacles and remain not only a great location but to show pride. With that their new ball club hopes to use that motto and overcome any challenges the team may have. To represent the color of fire Chicago has steered away from traditional colors of red, orange, and yellow in favor of a deeper maroon shade along with a mixture of orange/yellow and the inclusion of black. Chicago's logo is an abstract roundel featuring a flaming fire ball with a flame script within in. Both the home and road jerseys feature the same design pattern with their secondary mark on the left sleeve. "Fire/Flames" can be see slanted across the home chest while "Chicago" can be viewed on the road. Both caps are maroon with a custom fiery "C" in their yellow coloring outlined in black. *I seriously don't know which I want to use, "Fire" or "Flame" so I posted both, when I upload them they'll both be available for the taking.

Dallas Wranglers
The city of Dallas comes with a slew of history and many events that have taken place over the years. In order to honor the early days dating back prior to Texas' inclusion of a state these lands were filled with "Wranglers", which is a partial translation of Mexican Spanish caballerango groom, stable boy, with -erango. Dallas wanted to depict this in their branding representing an old western feel. Dallas and Texas as a whole are very proud of their state and culture. In order to keep this the Wranglers have went with Texas' flag colors - red, blue, and white. A patch featuring the State of Texas encompassed with their flag can be found on the sleeves, with an old western font on both home and away.

Los Angeles Stars
After paying their entrance fee earlier on in the process and claiming the rights to a LA based team there were major discrepancies from fans over the team design and team name. After spending a large sum of money on merchandise and advertising LA's owner has back peddled and scraped their entire identity. After sitting down with design consultants they've come up with a theme that suits the area in which they play - "The Stars". This name and logo are modeled after the fame and large movie industry that can be found in LA/Hollywood. For the logo design LA's logo is a semi roundel which a movie reel can easily be spotted as well as a film strip sprawling across the center. Within each "slide" the letters S-T-A-R-S is spelled out. LA has also included a secondary mark which is modeled after the Hollywood Walk of fame stars, with a baseball image in place of the entertainment icons that are actually used. LA owner wanted to keep the team primarily the same shape of red that the Reign used but include gold that matches the stars and a subtle nod to the Golden Globes. Also included is black for a accent color. The jersey design also changed, and was simplified to a red thick placket stripe and a thick red sleeve stripe. The secondary Star walk of fame logo can be found as a sleeve patch. The font used on the jersey crest has also went under modifications to be a little more modern and represent an "autograph".

Welp, that is now all 20 "ABA" franchises. All that is needed now is a league logo.
I want to start the minors using VERY similar designs and colors that follow that of their parent clubs. The locations are going to be instate lesser popular metropolitan cities. As far as team names I don't know how I'd like to handle that without creating a huge workload. I am open to ideas.

Grand Rapids is one of my favorite cities so I'll throw out a suggestion on it.
![]() Grand Rapids Swifts - with a rapids/wave in the logo From Wikipedia: In 1969, Alexander Calder's abstract sculpture, La Grande Vitesse, which translates from French as "the great swiftness" or more loosely as "grand rapids", was installed downtown on the Vandenberg Plaza, the redesigned setting of Grand Rapids City Hall. It's historic nickname is "Furniture City," but it's more recent nickname is "River City." You could always go with Grand Rapids River *animals*. In my fictional world I call them the Grand Rapids Rogues because of a river north of the city named Rogue River that runs into the Grand River, which Grand Rapids is named after. A real, but little heard of Grand Rapids team: Grand Rapids Dragonfish

What? No Indianapolis on there? WRONGFAIL!!
![]() But seriously, great work on this league. A few cities (Philadelphia in particular) seem conspicuous by their absence, but I suppose they can be expansion teams down the line some time. Last edited by ThatSeventiesGuy; 08-13-2015 at 11:40 PM. |

Hey thanks for the idea! I appreciate it!! Just debating on if I really want to attempt all the minor teams - having their own team names and logos or if I want to make it simple and uniform and follow their paret club. Example: Grand Rapids Motors with the same jersey/styling as Detroit but Grand Rapids logos on the jerseys. That doesn't really make sense though but that's 60 more logos , uniforms and caps to do lol

Thanks man I'm excited to get into the game eventually lol, these minors are going to take forever. But I do feel weird having no Pittsburgh or Philadelphia. One or the other will be part of the first expansion for sure!!!

Would it would make the final setup so much more worth it
having s totally fictional world created to my exact liking! So maybe I will do it, I think it would be cool! I'll take all the minor league name ideas I can get with the reason for the naming; like you did for Grand Rapids; so if yourself or anyone else wants to submit names in a similar fashion (per the cities I listed) I'm all ears for ideas!

Trust me, I know you want to dive in and play but if you set up your world exactly how you like it and then start to play it's well worth the wait.... of course that's just MY opinion as I like to have everything exactly how I want it.
I'll help you with some of the minor league team names as well once I get a little free time. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the new LA design. Great work. |

So for Triple A I am just going to post the logo guide unless everyone REALLY wants the jersey guide too... The jersey styling and colors will follow that of their parent club. I may post a little blurb on why I chose that nickname so every one knows how I got the idea but I am not going to go to into depth for the minors unless serious explanation is needed. Also, some teams may be named like their "ABA" affiliation. See the MLB's Cardinals and Red Sox for example. (A lot of their minor teams have the same names).
I am still taking ideas for all teams, I am just going down the list so if anyone has suggestions prior to me making a team feel free to post it.

Worcester Hearts
Worcester is known as "Heart of the Commonwealth", thus, a heart is the official symbol of the city. However, the heart symbol may also have its provenance in lore that Valentine's Day cards were invented in the city.

Raleigh Oaks
Raleigh is known as the "City of Oaks" for its many oak trees, which line the streets in the heart of the city which is how Charlotte's AAA team got its nickname.

Following the designs and colors of major clubs is going to be difficult for 60 (now 58) more teams. Ahh!
