Offseason

The Chicago Cubs won the World Series after having the best record in the NL Central. David Ortiz, Bartolo Colon, Alex Rodriguez, and Mark Buehrle were elected to the Hall of Fame. I lost Aroldis Chapman to free agency due to him wanting more money than we could offer. I decided to trade LF Khris Davis 1/1, RF Jordan Paroubeck 1/1.5, and MR Jumbo Diaz 3.5/3.5 to the Giants in exchange for 2B Matt Duffy 2/2, MR Ty Blach 2/2, and CL Sam Coonrod .5/1.5. I also traded RF Aristides Aquino 1/4.5 and SP Michael Lorenzen 1/2.5 to the Yankees in exchange for RF Aaron Judge 2.5/4.5 and MR Josh Edgin 1.5/1.5. I signed Aaron Judge to a 2 year, 6.5 million dollar per year contract. Lastly, I traded RF Jay Bruce 2/2 to the Orioles in exchange for MR David Hess 1/1 and RF Chris Parmelee 1/1 for financial reasons.

Signing

I signed SP Robert Stephenson to a 3 year, 6 million dollar per year contract. We are currently 2-0, which puts us in first place for the Central Division.

Update

I decided to trade C Devin Mesoraco 2.5/2.5, MR Juan Jaime 1/2.5, MR Carlos Contreras 1.5/1.5, and CL Sal Romano .5/1 to the Yankees in exchange for C John Ryan Murphy 2/2.5, 2B Jose Pirela 1/1, and C Mario Hernández 1/1. This trade was mainly because of financial reasons, it doesn't really make me any better or worse. We are 25-23, which puts us 2 games back in the Central Division and 1 game back in the NL Wild Card race we had a 10 game win streak that just ended. That streak took us from 7 games under .500 to 3 games over .500.

Trade

Joey Votto 4.5/4.5 hasn't been doing good lately. He has a 22.5 million dollars per year, 6 year contract. So, I decided to trade him, along with MR Mike Leake 1.5/1.5, who also has a huge contract, to the Red Sox in exchange for MR Tommy Kahnle 4/4, who has a very small salary, and 1B Gerardo Robles 1/3.5. This gives me a lot more money and gives me a much needed middle reliever. We have been doing awful lately, and we are now 38-48 which puts us 10 games back (5th place) in the Central Division and 11 games back in the Wild Card race.

All-star Break

We are 41-49, which puts us 11 games back in the Central Division (4th place) and 9.5 games back in the Wild Card race. Jesse Winker (.324, .401, .503, 12 HR, 65 RBI) and Todd Frazier (.296, .357, .522, 19 HR, 54 RBI) are all stars. Bill Hamilton has the most stolen bases (33) and Jesse Winker has the fourth best average (.324) in the NL. SP Robert Steohenson has the third most strikeouts (136) in the MLB.

Trade

I decided to trade 1B Gerardo Robles 1/3.5 to the Rockies in exchange for 2B/SS/1B Rossell Herrera 2.5/2.5, 1B David Lockhart 1/1, and 2B Rafael Ynoa 1/1. This trade gives me a much needed shortstop while giving rid of a player that may or may not turn out to be good.

End of season

We finished the season 77-85 which put us 23 games back (4th place) in the Central Division and 11 games back in the Wild Card race. Jesse Winker (.322, .402, .521, 26 HR, 109 RBI) and Todd Frazier (.274, .344, .498, 30 HR, 80 RBI) had solid seasons. C Ward Beckmann (.252, .282, .388, 9 HR, 57 RBI) did not do as good as I hoped. Robert Stephenson (3.77, 12-12) did pretty good. The Los Angeles Dodgers won the World Series 4-2 against the Royals. Tim Hudson and CC Sabathia were elected into the HOF.
