What I would like to see

I think others have brought this up but I will repeat it.
Fix the stolen base in the one pitch mode. It does not work and creates horrible stats.

Second look into better randomization of events in the game for one pitch mode. Distinct repeatable patterns show up when you play several one pitch mode games one right after the other.

How does it create horrible stats? I've never had a problem with it and I always play in 1 pitch mode. What distinct repeatable patterns? Can you give an example please?

Most times the runner will not go for 2nd and when he does he tends to get caught stealing. I never use a straight steal anymore. i only use run & hit when stealing or switch to pitch by pitch mode.

I agree that stealing in one-pitch mode is very poor.

I always switch to pitch-by-pitch when I am interesting in stealing opportunities.

My first season, set with 1980 defaults and a one-pitch simulation mode, I was surprised by how high the caught stealing percentage was -- then I realized it matched the actual 1980 caught stealing percentage. So, a success by the designers!

I wanted a higher success rate. So I went under Customize League, Statistics Menu, and had it multiply the Stolen Base Percentage by 1.075. I've been happy with the overall results ever since.

One pitch mode issues

SB is a problem for the team being managed in one pitch mode. Never had a season with a player I managed better than 50% or right around there.

As for patterns...
Patterns in one pitch mode seem to be bad/faulty randomization. I can't speak for sim only but I believe they show up there too. The number of 5 hit games is suspect. It seems that there is a correction/normalization for stats that make season stats close to realistic but game to game they are a little off. It is more apparent in one pitch mode. (It could also be that super slumps happen just like 5 hit games evening out)
A few Examples over the many seasons with me would be (just off the top of my head):
Prince Fielder 7 infield hits in 3 games
5 grand slams in the last 3 innings in 5 consecutive games.
30 walks in 3 games

Ever notice in a one pitch mode how many times hitters hit to the exact same player/spot of the field in the same inning.

Also in all of these the scores in the series were close to same and the outcome was identical (The same team won all of the games)
now all of these type games only happen after playing the games back to back. No quitting OOTP between games.

I find that if I quit after a game that is odd ball and play the next day or at least give hours between play then usually the next game does not follow the pattern of the odd ball game. Also this goes for both the human managed team and the AI managed team.

I'm not saying this is a horrible game. I'm saying that it is a good game that could use a little work on the game mode.
