I found this on Jones:

Both Baseball America and MLB.com praise Jones’ combination of power and speed but note that he’s raw and a bit inexperienced at shortstop after playing mostly second base and center field at LSU. BA notes that he has a propensity to swing and miss, while MLB.com praises his aggressive style on the basepaths and pure athleticism.
Jones recently reached Double-A but has just three games at that level. He’s batting a combined .260/.319/.398 across two levels in the minors this season and is a .277/.336/.445 career hitter overall in his pro career.

Looks like the Pirates were trying to convert him from 2B to SS. Perfect.

So, what time today is Cespedes dealt?

Will Davis be gone too?

How about Avila?

Simon?

I will be surprised if all four are still in Detroit by 4:00. Not so sure about Kinsler.

Wild day ahead.

Three hours and counting.

++++++++++
Ken Rosenthal
@Ken_Rosenthal
#Mets talking to #Tigers about Cespedes, sources tell me and @jonmorosi . One of their many options.

Jon Heyman
@JonHeymanCBS
mets greatest concern is lagares in CF. so rajai davis & venable could work. but upton/cespedes more lineup impact.
++++++++++++

How about Davis & Cespedes - shake some of that young pitching loose!

Nope. You can have Wheeler, but the rest of the flock stays where it is.

And Granderson and three out of the pen, plus Mejia, for J.D. Martinez.

Wow, the Jays are moving all their chips to the center of the table and vomiting the talent out of their system.

They had better roll long and hard with the deals they are making.

The #Tigers real close to moving Cespedes. The #whitesox involved but not the favorite

NY was never going to give up Wheeler for a rental, sorry.

The MiLB guys are Fulmer and Cessa according to Mets centric sources.

You'll like Fulmer, I'm pretty sure. He's been looking great and is likely almost MLB ready.

I take the 'grrr' back. This could be good.

I've been ambivalent about him. Doesn't K enough guys to look like a good MLB starter to me, but some scouting reports have been pretty high on him.

I think he's probably a 5th starter, decent RP type in the end, with the potential for a bit more best case. That isn't great, but it's not awful either.

I didn't know we had any pitchers left.

Edit it is a 2-year window maybe 3 with Tulowitski and Donaldson. Injuries could derail this fast.

Blue Jays GM doesn't care. He needs to win some games to be there next year. If it works out and they make the playoffs, fantastic for him, he's bought more time. If it doesn't and he gets fired, he doesn't have to pick up the pieces.

Interesting graphic I found earlier. It just shows how imbalanced our team has been this year due to the horrendous pitching.

While that chart pleases this Cardinal fan...man, that's tough for you guys. I remember when you had some scary good starting pitching not all that long ago. Verlander was the right-handed Kershaw just a few years back. Now he's barely putting up #4 starter numbers. One of the quickest declines I've seen in a while. I certainly didn't see it coming, anyway. What happened? Kate Upton?

That graph is total mularkey. There is no way the Indians batters are equivalently good to their pitching.

The Indians have like 12 WAR from batters. I bet Kipnis and Brantley are like 8 WAR. The other 10-15 guys are total 4 WAR. Nice production.
