Backup size

Why is the backup file of my league almost 7 gigs in 2015, but when I backup the same league in ootp 2016 its only 1.6? Did I lose that much information while transferring over? It simply just doesn't make sense to me.

Photos, baseball cards and jerseys take up a lot of space,

The Game makes a good point, but there's simply no way for you to know exactly what is going on without doing some more analysis on the two folders. If it's really bugging you, you could try:
  1. Compare the two backup folders. Identify all of the top-level folders in each and their respective sizes.
  2. Is there a difference in the folders between the two backups, e.g. a folder that exists in your old backup but not your new? If so, which folders?
  3. Is there a substantial size difference between any two folders of matching names? If so, which folders?
  4. If you do have a substantial size mismatch for any two folders, go into that folder and repeat this process for the subfolders in there.
That should help you narrow down where the size differential is coming from. If you post more information, we might be able to give you a better idea of specifically why that is happening.

I think the most likely culprits are:
  • Photos/logos/baseball cards etc. as The Game indicated
  • Logs
  • Archives

well the only reason why it concerns me is that I have a virus on my laptop, and I'm going to do a system restore to make sure that I get rid of it, so I just want to make sure that I'm not going to be missing any files when I try to restore from the backup.

Scan your ".lg "folder to make sure it's clean, then make a copy to a stick or CD/DVD, external HD....

Copy it back when completed laptop cleanup.
