Looking for UNIQUE team name ideas?

I'm currently in the early stages of developing a league that is centered around the Florida-Georgia line (yes, it's inspired by the country band). The league will showcase 12 clubs from the state of Florida (playing in the Sunshine League) and 12 teams in Georgia (Peach League).

I've often, out of laziness, resorted to choosing pretty generic team names for my leagues, but I wanted to mix it up this time around and have some fun with it. They don't all need to too crazy, just something that hasn't necessarily been used by other professional teams.

Can I get some help?

I'll start with the cities in my Florida League...

For me I love using names that have been used before - especially for regional leagues. I like to find old minor league team names from that city and use those if possible - but that's just me.

How about the Tallahassee Nasties?

I have friends that went to Florida State and they would always refer to Tallahassee as 'Talle-nasty'. Thought it was a fun play on words.

So, my names are hardly original, but I will throw out mine because I have a fictional Florida league and I already have caps and uniforms for them, so they look cool (IMHO).

Most of my Florida International League team names are historic (Tampa Tarpons, St Petersburg Pelicans, Miami Beach Flamingos) but also have the Key West Tropics (playing in Astros-esque rainbow jerseys at Hemingway Field with a 70s style) and the Fort Lauderdale Gulls

Thunder, if you start your own thread, I'm sure people can help you out.

As far as Top 10 cities go, there's no built-in functionality around it. Plus, in my case, I highly doubt Sweetwater is in the Top 10 cities in Fla.

If you're handy with Excel, it's easy to take some of the files the game generates to get a list of all the cities in the game including population.

I once had a team called the Cowards with a white flag for a logo.

The clipart files you have on your computer are a good source for funny logos and team nicknames. I currently have a team called the Pushpins:
