Specific Position Trade

this is really just something that would be a convienice for lazy people like me, but when you go to make a trade, It would be nice if you could specify a position you are looking for.

Like now, when you offer up a player to a specific team, it lists all the players that would make the deal work, but it would be nice to either sort. or ask for a specific position. For example, I had a decent starting pitcher i wanted to trade to dump salary, I was specifically looking for a centerfielder. It would be nice to be able to select the recieving team, and have an option to say "Show only Centerfielders" or something like that.

Like i said, just somethign so lazy people like me can sort through the list easier

Being able to designate the position(s) of players being sought in a trade would be very helpful, even if's generic like "IF" or "OF" or "P." If I'm trying to trade a starting pitcher because I have depth in SP, it's frustrating to wade through the long list of all the pitchers the other team is willing to give me in return!

or even if it was just a sortable list, then you could sort by position.

i am new to ootp and have a question. do i need to go team by team to look at all the offers for my players. like right now i add a player or two to my offering list and then have to look at each team one at a time and looking at their players. is there an easier way to do this?

afaik you can go team by team and offer up players to see what they will offer you for them, Or you can put them on your offering list and wait for other teams to make offers.

I might be misreading your intention here mhochman, or maybe it's a step you don't want to take but when I go to a specific team wanting a CF for instance, I don't put any of my players up on the trade screen right away. I select the team, select add player from their roster, select CF there, then add a player from their roster. Even if they don't show the player I would LIKE to trade to make the deal work, I can still put him up there and get their reaction to it. Yeah, sometimes it takes a prospect I hadn't counted on trading etc... but at least the selection process was narrowed down for me.

If what you're saying is that you'd like a narrowed selection to STICK so that each team you bring up shows only those players as possible trade selections, then yep I'm with you. In fact there are a LOT of screens and menu selections I'd like to STICK when the next screen comes up rather than having to re-click the sort in order to see what I want to see.

I, for one, would definitely like to have the ability to put a player up on the block and immediately click 'get offers' to get a sortable listing of all players from all teams that would make the deal work. The trading block is too passive.
