Replay from 1901

I started this replay in 1901. Changed teams when Ty Cobb joined the league as a rookie. The New York Giants drafted him.

I'm in 1906 now and through May look at the start Christy Mathewson has going.

i've had Doc White start off just like that. Having both him and Rube Waddell is pretty great, as well as Nap Lajoie and Honus Wagner.

Copied from Wikipedia.

Edward James Delahanty (October 30, 1867 – July 2, 1903), nicknamed "Big Ed", was a Major League Baseball player from 1888 to 1903 for the Philadelphia Phillies, Cleveland Infants and Washington Senators. He was known as one of the game's early power hitters. Delahanty won a batting title, batted over .400 three times, and has the fifth-highest batting average in MLB history. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1945. He died under uncertain circumstances in Niagara Falls after being kicked off of a train while intoxicated.

Apparently, somebody saw a crate or something floating then, could have been his body. We'll never know.

When you can win a batting title at 19, I'm pretty sure he'll make the HOF again, but we'll see about that .400+ average.

The sad thing is Cy Young has been delegated to the bullpen the last few years and now Kid Nichols has 25 more wins than him. I guess they'll have to change the award to the Kid Nichols Award.

Oh boy, The Kid Nichols award doesn't sound as good. My good man Doc White is tied for lowest ERA though

96% success rate. But maybe they didn't count CS prior to 1900.
