Is the top 100 Prospect bug back?
I have experianced a very high amount of catchers ruling my top 100 list. I know this was an issue before, wanted to see if anyone else is seeing this with the latest update.
Thanks |

This is not a bug and its not just the top prospect list that are filled with catchers (if you use players rated by positions) the top league players list can be filled with catchers also and I think its because the game values the catcher position way more than it really should.

I am playing a game with "default / out of the box" settings on a "New MLB game" ... with the exception that my Prospects List is 'dynamic.'
Catchers have started taking over the prospect list. Catchers currently hold 16 spots as compared to 3 for CF and 1 for LF. I don't have a screenshot from when the league first started; however, there were only a few catchers on the list at the time and they've quickly grown to outnumber the other position players. Worse, though, is the closer/rp position is dominating the list (more than 25 closers). It should be noted; however, that LukasBerger stated he has placed a bug report for the closers. I haven't had time to check to see how many of the catchers and closers were created by the game. It seems it is possible the game is creating catchers and closers who are "too good" when compared with players created at other positions which might be causing this problem. Yea I recently switched to dynamic also (due to the top prospect list bug with players bought from the indies) so that is probably why I just started noticing it.
Either way the top players list (opposite of top prospect list) in the league are still filled with catchers. Last edited by SirMichaelJordan; 06-17-2015 at 10:38 AM. |

Did anyone figure out if this was a recurring problem or just something to do with a certain setting when it comes to ratings? I have seen the same issue on two leagues I am starting up for catchers both as top prospects and players

Changing to "Ratings based on all players, not positions" seems to help fix this issue.
I realized this started happening when I switched back to having players rated by positions. (Along with top 100 list set to dynamic which was not the cause) I never use that option and so I never seen this problem prior to making the switch back to default. Will it rate players regardless of position? Since that's what it says.. what effect does that have to your league? Would someone like Kershaw be rated higher than say, Mike Trout? Would top players of a certain position that have more players say, 1B for example, be rated lower? Just wondered... |
