Angry Grrrrr

Sometimes this game can be so annoying. Despite my long connection to the game, I'm not very good at it. And despite the fact that OOTP isn't great about letting you "manage your way up the ranks," I'm currently managing the rookie league Titusville Barracudas. I had us at a respectable 7-6, just a 1/2 game off the division lead heading into a three-game set against the Sarasota Waves.

The result?
  • We lose 5-4 in 10 in a seesaw affair.
  • We lose 4-3 giving up 2 in the 8th and 1 in the 9th.
  • We lose 2-1 in 12, with my starter going 7 innings with 1 run, and his successor throwing four scoreless innings.
OK, OK, it's early in the season. It's a marathon not a sprint, etc.

But still, grrrr.

Just the other day, the Kingsport Mets had a perfect game going to the 9th, with a 4-0 lead and ended up losing 8-7 in 10 innings. These things happen in rookie ball, lol.

Well, at least the next game was unequivocal. 6-0 4-hit loss.

Whee, finally got off the snide (schneid?) with a 9-7 victory.

Now I just have to go into commish mode to add a C to the roster, since I only have one, and my major league GM can't be bothered to add another, and my current C is exhausted and we have a string of 20 straight games coming up!!

Yeah that is annoying. I just had to intervene at AAA where I had 3 catchers yet the AI played one guy down to 60%. These things just shouldn't happen. In your case no roster should be allowed that only has one catcher.

The AI needs to be better than that. Two uninjured catchers should be on the roster at all times during the season.

At least one guys that can at least back up a first base man. I have seen Carl Crawford man first base on a team.

Good point. The AI loves to have only one 1B.

Never noticed any huge issues with playing out-of-position at 1B. AI probably knows this.

Mostly I find its catchers are playing DH in minors with one only playing catcher but it has happened different postions least for me, because one game at first and you have a rating at first so you can now start at first some times the minors are weird
